An Agglomeration

I have read so many articles exposing the LDS for the false belief system that it is, that I decided it was time to share the links to some of the articles for my readers’ education. I’m more than happy to discuss any article in my links below. But first, how about a citation from LDS President Wilford Woodruff:

The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray. It is not in the programme. It is not in the mind of God. If I were to attempt that, the Lord would remove me out of my place. (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Wilford Woodruff, pg.199.)

So let us test Woodruff’s claim and see how teachings, as noted in the articles linked to, really do lead people astray from the true God of the universe and the true Jesus Christ.

4 Reasons to Reject Restoration Claims. I think these are all excellent reasons to reject the claims.

Can anyone show me from Scripture where the LDS temples are anything like the Jewish temples, with the requirement to wear special garments which themselves keep changing over the years? Please show me from scripture and historical records where Christians had temples with the requirement for special “underwear.”

One of my favorite books when researching Mormonism was 3,913 Changes in the Book of Mormon. Quite a think publication, but you can also read some on-line at the Utah Lighthouse Ministry. I find it difficult to believe that a book of gold plates was translated through a special seer stone in a hat under the special direction of God and still have thousands of changes from the original, God-directed manuscript!

Does the Mormon God have his own God? Too many LDS leaders taught that their God did indeed have a father God—including Joseph Smith himself. This is a totally unbiblical theology, as well as being totally illogical!!!

Life After Ministry blog is an outstanding source of teachings exposing the lies, the false teachings, false prophets, etc of the Latter-Day Saints. So I’m going to give more links to several articles from this site.

Racism was endemic in the LDS from the very beginning, as show by the many racist teachings in the Book of Mormon.

LDS Canon Still Contains Racist Doctrines. So don’t let the LDS say it being a mistake of the past, etc. My BIG question is, why are there blacks who are Mormons?!?

LDS Lies: ‘Negroes Markedly Inferior’. Well, the truth is far from that—Negroes are real humans with real talents/gifts of their own and not a bit inferior to “whites.”

The LDS claims that the Bible Shows “Racial Streams,” aka, Racism. But in order to understand the Bible that way they have to twist the meaning of Scripture.

As I have done before, I will remind the reader of book published by the LDS: Mormonism and the Negro, by John J. Stewart. One of the most racist books you will read.

One more item and I’ll quit for today: Conference Quote Reveals More Racist Lies and Contradictions.

Odds and Ends

It’s been a while since I posted a collection of links to good articles teaching you about Mormonism.  You will notice that the majority of the links are to articles on the excellent Life After Ministry blog.  If you have any interest in studying Mormonism, or if your are a Mormon seeking the truth about you faith, I highly recommend you subscribe to that blog.

Well, hold on to your seat, because here is some good reading by following these links.

The 2nd Most Stupid Quote of All Time.  This one really shows a major problem with LDS doctrine.

Investigating Mormonism 2019.  Good resource with a chart showing differences between Mormon doctrine and the Bible.

Colossians 1:16 succinctly states that Jesus created everything.  However, the Mormons claim this is not so. For them Michael the Archangel help Jesus, and then God the Father took over for the creation of man. The real conundrum for them is that they can’t even keep their creation story straight!

Did you know the most important goal for you to be saved, according to Mormons, is to get a temple recommend and perform temple rituals? How can this be true when the Bible says our most important goal for salvation is to place our faith in Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice?

Salvation for the Mormons is really impossible. If you would like to see a more in-depth example of how a Mormon can never obtain forgiveness, read this article.

Did you know that the Mormons are still praying for vengeance against those who “persecuted” their Church in the 19th century? Of course if they would tell the truth, you’d learn that the vast majority of said persecution was responding to Mormon behaviors and threats against those among whom they settled!

The Mormons can’t settle on who that angel is who tops their temples. When you have a made-up religion, you really need to keep all your stories straight!

Here’s a look at a question I’ve thought about for a long time: how is Jesus the ONLY begotten in Pre-Existence? Thinking about this brought me back to another problem with the doctrine of Pre-Existence, and that is the problem of Mary: in the pre-existent spirit world she was a sister to Jesus and Satan, and everyone else (including you and me!) So if she was “Heavenly Father’s” daughter in the spiritual realm of pre-existence, and their God came to earth and had sex with her so she could conceive the body for Jesus to inhabit, isn’t that an incestuous relationship between their man-god and his daughter?

A question for you Mormons: Is tithing mandatory or voluntary?

I think that can be enough boggling of your mind for today!

Did He Really Say That?!?

From the days of Adam to the present, whenever the Lord has had a people on earth, temples and temple ordinances have been a crowning feature of their worship. . . . The inspired erection and proper use of temple is one of the great evidences of the divinity of the Lord’s work. . . . where these are not, the Church and kingdom and the truth of heaven are not.

Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 780-781

Notice that this is another attack on Christianity, because we don’t have the cited features.  The problem, really, is that nowhere in Scripture will you find Christians with temples and temple ordinances. And the things performed in their temples — eternal marriages, baptisms for the dead, etc — also are not found in Scripture!

The LDS is not a Christian faith. Period.

Random Articles to Educate About Mormonism

Should Mormon missionaries tell the truth about children?

The Mormon temples have absolutely no relation to the Jewish temples in the Bible.  Mormon temples are places for blasphemous and pagan ceremonies.

Joseph Smith’s D&C 132 was nothing but justification for serial adultery.

The Holy Ghost is the Only Begotten of God?!?

The continued lies, distortions, and contradictions of the LDS church proves it is not of God.

According to the LDS, a woman who does not marry a Mormon man in a temple for “time and all eternity” will spend eternity as a servant without her husband or children.  It’s obvious, of course, that according to the Bible there is no marriage in heaven, nor is there any servant status!

WOW — a new Bible translation for the LDS.  Now what?!?!

Oh the obsession with sex in the LDS.

Mormons continually deny that Brigham Young taught the doctrine of blood atonement, or else they say he did not receive it from God.  But Young himself said it was a rule of God, and Young was a Mormon prophet of God, so they can’t pick and choose. Here is more evidence of said teaching, a teaching straight from Satan.

Some problems for Mormons which they don’t even think about!

Was the Garden of Eden in Missouri? Absolutely not!  Missouri didn’t even exist as a specific part of a continent prior to the Flood.  The LDS fairy tale captures the minds of their gullible members. Their “modern day revelation” is nothing but lies. (And Adam’s altar survived the Flood?!?). Mormons seem to be devoid of common sense.

Random Articles About The Latter-day Saints

The first three articles for today are at Mormon Coffee, the blog of Mormonism Research Ministry.

First, here is a video which demonstrates the real differences between Biblical/Christian salvation and Mormon “eternal life.”  The former is real while the later is non-existent.

You really have to feel sorry for those deceived Mormons. They all look to their temples, and desire to be able to be temple worthy — especially those who want to be married “eternally” in their temples.  But, the list of requirements necessary to qualify makes it very difficult to get a “temple recommend”.  Consequently, a huge majority of LDS members will never have the opportunity to attend any service or work in a temple.  This is why there are HUGE numbers of Mormons who visit new temples before they’ve been consecrated (they are also open to the public for tours, and I toured the Nauvoo Temple in 2002).  The carrot is always there, but never able to be eaten by these people.  How sad for them never to fulfill their religious desires — and how sad that they don’t realize that this is just a part of their false belief system which keeps them from real salvation.

Very, very interesting story about the whole history behind the Book of Mormon plates.  It’s a 46-minute video, but well worth it.   How Mormons can watch this story and not understand the fraudulent nature of the BOM story and the entire lie of the LDS church is beyond me.  They remain deceived because they are invested in the lie and can’t admit they’ve been had.

The sad fact of the Mormon view of salvation is that it is extremely complex, and one can really never know if they are saved.  Midwest Christian Outreach apologetics ministry for many years has a good almost quarterly journal, one of the issues of which had an excellent article on the LDS salvation teaching.  It is now on-line here.

Of course for the LDS, the “First Vision” is the foundation of their belief system.  If that “First Vision” never happened, then their entire system is fraudulent.  I’ve give brief examinations into the “First Vision” story in previous articles, demonstrating how many versions of the “First Vision” there really are, which alone demonstrates it was made up years after the fact.  The Utah Lighthouse Ministry has a good synopsis of the “Evolution of the First Vision and Teaching on God in Early Mormonism.”

One has to wonder why the Mormon Church is now releasing photos of Joseph Smith’s “seer stone.”  I guess they don’t see a problem with Smith needing an occultic device for “translating” the Book of Mormon.  I’d sure like them to give a biblical example where a seer stone is used by any of God’s people.

Mormons are always asking people to read the Book of Mormon and then pray to God about it to see if it is true.  I’ve always said that is analogous to praying to God to see if it is okay to commit adultery.  This article tells you why we should NOT pray about it.

Round Up of Recent “Mormon Coffee” Articles

Yes, it is time for another episode of reporting on the best of the most recent Mormon Coffee articles.

Is it wrong to say Mormons believe in a “different Jesus”?  No.  And their leaders have stated as much!

Following up on that one, here is an article about that “different Jesus.”

A very interesting bit of Mormon family history.

A report on a visit to Nauvoo.  I’ve been to Nauvoo several times, but it’s been a few years since my last visit.  The information I learned during my visits wasn’t as honest as this report reflects, so I’m guessing the tour guides are being affected by the fact of truth about Mormons found all over the Internet.

Mormons may not worship Joseph Smith, but which Mormon god they worship really isn’t clear.

First Presidency and Mormon racism—some contradictions.

A Mormon Sunday school teacher explained to his class the history of Mormon racism against blacks.  He was later contacted by his bishop and counseled that he was never again to teach the history of blacks and the LDS prior to 1973.  What makes this more interesting is that he used official church document for his lesson!  Mormons are embarrassed about their racist history and want to pretend it never happened.  They have told many lies to cover up facts about it.

The Mormon claims about their temples copying Solomon’s temple have surely been proven to be fabrications.

This last one isn’t from Mormon Coffee, rather it is from Janis Hutchinson, a former Mormon who is an excellent researcher on Mormonism.  This essay asks the question about what the Book of Mormon witnesses really saw.
