This is one of the worst heresies I’ve seen with the LDS: Jesus was crucified because he was polygamous!?!?

Did They Really Say That?!?

Normally I only post one citation at a time to examine, but this time I’m going “plural.”  For all of these quotes my “hat” is “tipped” to Life After Ministry.

There is no way to make sense out of life without a knowledge of the doctrine of premortal life. The idea that mortal birth is the beginning is preposterous. There is no way to explain life if you believe that.

Well, can a single Mormon show me from scripture where people first exist as spirit children of a man-god and then are born mortal? If that was so, why do we not remember a pre-mortal existence? And if man was already existing as a spirit, then why did God have to create man — i.e., Adam and Eve? It is really quite easy to make sense out of life by reading what the Bible says about our beginnings, our need to please God while living, and the FACT that there is no chance of salvation after death.

The grand reason of the burst of public sentiment in anathemas upon Christ and his disciples, causing his crucifixion, was evidently based upon polygamy, according to the testimony of the philosophers who rose in that age. A belief in the doctrine of a plurality of wives caused the persecution of Jesus and his followers. We might almost think that they [Jesus and his followers] were Mormons.

When I read the Bible it tells me two things: (1) Jesus was persecuted by the Pharisees and Sadducees because he up-ended their world of legalistic false teachings. (2) Jesus was not married; nowhere in the Bible does it even hint at such a thing. Not only that, God takes a very dim view of polygamy, as I demonstrated in this article, which means to be a polygamous man Jesus would have to be sinning and therefore not God in the flesh.  By the way, Joseph Smith invented the doctrine of polygamy to cover up his multiple adulterous affairs.

And now, behold, we have written this record according to our knowledge, in the characters which are called among us the reformed Egyptian, being handed down and altered by us, according to our manner of speech. And if our plates had been sufficiently large we should have written in Hebrew; but the Hebrew hath been altered by us also; and if we could have written in Hebrew, behold, ye would have had no imperfection in our record.  But the Lord knoweth the things which we have written, and also that none other people knoweth our language; therefore he hath prepared means for the interpretation thereof.

This one is actually quite funny because of how it is nothing but a way of excusing away mistakes and lies. Never has there been any evidence of a language known as “Reformed Egyptian,” and since the Egyptians were enemies of the Hebrews why would they use their enemy’s language rather than their own? And why is there no evidence of Egyptian or Hebrew found in the Americas at the time these “Hebrew” people were supposedly over here? And why would they alter a language, Hebrew, that would be considered more sacred that Egyptian? And if they needed larger plates, why didn’t they make them larger? And even if they are using another language, why would it have “imperfections” in the transcribing process?

Here Joseph Smith again broke with existing false traditions. It had been taught that God created the earth out of nothing, by the fiat of his word. Instead, Joseph declared that the earth was made from existing materials. That is, the earth was organized rather than created. Latter-day Saints always speak of the “creation” of the earth in that sense.

Genesis says “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  Notice it says “in the beginning;” meaning there was no beginning of previously existing matter to create out of — the creation WAS the beginning.

Some have said that I was very presumptuous to say that Brother Brigham was my God and Saviour, Brother Joseph was his God and the one that gave Joseph the keys of the kingdom was his God which was Peter. Jesus Christ was his God and (the) Father of Jesus Christ was Adam.

So according to Woodruff, and the entire LDS, there are multiple gods and multiple saviors. Can the LDS then explain why all through the Bible it says over and over again that there is one God? 1 Timothy 2:5 says there is ONE God, and ONE Savior to mediate between God and man, and that Savior is Jesus Christ.  Isaiah 43:11 says there is only one God, and that there is no other savior. Do the LDS really want another person to be their god and savior?!?!

When it comes to the LDS — the Mormon Church and its leaders — one can never run out of unbiblical, shocking statements.

Yes, They Really Did Say That!

When the plan for our salvation was presented to us in the premortal spirit world, we were so happy that we shouted for joy (see Job 38:7).

Okay, let’s look at Job 38:7: 

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Who are the “morning stars” and who are the “sons of God.”  The parallelism is that they are one and the same individuals; i.e. they are angels.  We see this in Genesis 6, Job 1:6, Job 2:1, and Satan is one of them.

What was the reason the angels shouted for joy? It was because they observed the creation (the context of Job 38 ff).

So, just what are angels? They are spiritual beings created before man was created, and therefore a part of the creation they watched was man. Angels are not pre-human creatures, nor are they humans who have died.

Again I must point the Mormon to 1 Corinthians 15:44-46 which says mankind first exists as a natural body and then becomes a spiritual body after death. No where in the Bible will you find anything that even hints of preexistence. The LDS Book of Abraham is where this doctrine comes from, and that text has been proven to be a false work by Joseph Smith.

So there are three major lies in this one sentence:

1.  There is no such thing as a premortal spirit world.

2.  Angels are not pre-existing humans.

3.  The angels shouted for joy because of the creation, not because of any “plan of our salvation.”

Just remember, friends: Satan is the father of lies.

Oh, Really?

The Scriptures teach us that the prophets prepared themselves to become leaders on earth while they were still spirits in heaven (See Alma 13:1-3). Before they were born into mortal bodies, God foreordained (chose) them to be leaders on earth. Jesus, Adam, and Abraham were some of these leaders. (See Abraham 3:22-23) …

A veil covers our memories of our premarital life, but our Father in Heaven knows who we are and what we did before we came here. He has chosen the time and place for each of us to be born so we can learn the lessons we personally need and do the most good with our individual talents and personalities.

Isn’t quite convenient that no one is able to remember their past spiritual life, and yet LDS prophets were supposed already prepared to be leaders? If they can’t remember, then how do they remember being prepared?

Nowhere in the Bible will we find such teachings.  We know by examination that the Book of Mormon is a fraud, being substantially nothing more than plagiarizing the KJV Bible and other books. And the Book of Abraham is nothing more than an Egyptian funeral document. So just these facts alone prove these claims to be false.

But let us look at one really good passage from the Bible which refutes this teaching — 1 Corinthians 15:44-46 where Paul is discussing the human body (HCSB):  sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.

Paul says that our bodies were FIRST natural (i.e. physical, earthly bodies) and then, when resurrected, will be spiritual bodies.  The LDS have the spiritual body first!

Did They Really Say That?!?

And after the flood we are told that the curse [black skin] that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham’s wife, as he had married a wife of that seed.  And why did it pass through the flood?  Because it was necessary that the devil should have a representative upon the earth as well as God. . . .

Why is it, in fact, that we should have a devil?  Why did the Lord not kill him long ago?  Because he could not do without him.  He needed the devil and a great many of those who do his bidding to keep men straight, that we may learn to place our dependence upon God, and trust in him, and to observe his laws and keep his commandments.  When he destroyed the inhabitants of the antediluvian world, he suffered a descendant of Cain to come through the flood in order that he might be properly represented upon the earth.

Where oh where to begin!  

Firstly, we are not told in Genesis 4:15 exactly what was the mark that God gave Cain, but it certainly wouldn’t have been black skin color or it would have said God gave him more than a “mark.”  

Secondly, the mark wasn’t a curse — it was a mark of protection!!  Thirdly, there is no evidence from Scripture that Ham’s wife was a descendant of Cain—that is just a made up idea by the Mormons.

Thirdly, nowhere in Scripture does it say that Cain was representing the devil, or that his offspring were representatives of the devil.  This, again, is an idea totally made up by the Mormons.

Fourthly, the idea the God can’t do without the devil certainly puts limits on God and His sovereignty!  The Mormon god proves to be incompetent.

Fifthly, how is it that the devil can do God’s bidding “to keep men straight”?  Isn’t that the work of the Holy Spirit in believers?

Lastly, explain why the devil needed “to be properly represented upon the earth”?

All this unbiblical nonsense comes about in order to shore up the false teachings of Joseph Smith.  These teachings include the lie that Satan is a brother of Christ rather than a being created by Christ (as the Bible teaches), that spirits in the pre-existence were all brothers and sisters (the Bible teaches NO pre-existent spirits); that these spirits chose to follow Christ or Satan and those who remained neutral received the curse of dark skin when they come to earth (pure racist ideology), and that Cain was apparently the first earthbound soul to have this curse (which begs another question about when this so-called rebellion took place); and that those who followed Satan became demons (whereas the Bible teaches that the demons are fallen angels, which are a different created being than are humans).

Mormons, you’ve been fed a lot of science-fiction fairy tales which totally contradict the truth of the Bible.  Learn the truth and leave Mormonism.

Compressed Spirits Forget Pre-Existent Past

“When all these spirits [of God’s heaven-born spirit children] were sent forth from the eternal worlds, they were, no doubt, not infants; but when they entered into the infant tabernacle [body], they were under necessity, the same as our Lord and Savior, of being compressed, or diminished in size so that their spirits could be enclosed in infant tabernacles.

When Jesus was born into our world, His previous knowledge was taken from Him.  This was occasioned by His spiritual body being compressed into a smaller volume than it originally occupied. . . .  When this spirit was compressed, so as to be wholly enclosed in an infant tabernacle, it had a tendency to suspend memory. . . .

So it is with man.  When he enters a body of flesh, his spirit is so compressed and contracted in infancy that he forgets his former existence.”

Spirits, having no real dimension, do not need to be compressed or compacted to fit anywhere.  And what biblical evidence do they have for any of this nonsense, especially since the Bible denies spiritual pre-existence (1 Cor. 15:44-46 — natural FIRST!)?  This story was obviously concocted to respond to questions about why we don’t remember pre-existing.

The convoluted stories cultists have to come up with to defend their false beliefs can be downright humorous!
