Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.
Brigham Young, 8 March 1863, Journal of Discourses 10:110.
First, the “seed of Cain,” in Mormon lingo, are blacks. This comes from the erroneous idea that the mark God put on Cain after killing Abel was black skin. Of course any descendants of Cain would have been wiped out in the Flood, but the Mormons never figured that out.
Second, the “chosen seed” are Mormons.
Third, mixing blood means having sexual intercourse with.
Notice that Brigham Young unequivocally says this is the “law of God,” and Young was a “prophet” of God as well as being an LDS president. Therefore, if Young says this was from God, the Mormons have to either accept his claims or refute him as a false prophet. Hmmmm. What to do, what to do?
According to the Bible, we are all of one race - the human race, all descended from Adam (Acts 17:26). God made no law against people of different color intermarrying. Joseph Smith started the racism in the Mormon church, and Brigham Young expanded on it. Their whole doctrine of eternal progression is based on racism.
The LDS Church is trying very hard to distance themselves from their racist past because it is no longer politically-correct. However, to say that racism is wrong, they have to disavow their prophet/presidents all the way up to the middle of the 20th century, or else - as they are doing - lie about it!
Why any black person would remain in that racist organization is beyond my comprehension.
