A Collection of Links to Articles Every Mormon Should Read

There are some sites which I regularly follow, and which have excellent articles exposing the fraudulent nature of the Mormon Church.  Some articles are more in-depth than others, but all of them demonstrate conclusively that the Mormon Church worships a different God and Christ than the God and Christ of the Bible, and they preach what Paul called “another Gospel”
(Galatians 1:6) — gospel which offers no salvation.  A false God, a false Christ, and a false Gospel all add up to an eternity separated from God.

I feel these articles should be published as often as possible to give then the widest distribution for two reasons: 1) to show Mormons that their church is false and perhaps they will decide to leave it, and 2) to show everyone else the fraudulent nature of the cult of the LDS so that they will never consider joining them.  So educate yourself with these great articles.

An excellent comparison between the Mormon “Jesus” and the Jesus of the Bible.

The Book of Abraham and the discovery and naming of Egypt.  It’s not what the LDS claims.

Why was Joseph Smith really murdered?

So if Mormon leaders have abused you, it is YOU who need to repent?!?!?

The New Mormon Church History: Reviewed (Excerpts). The Mormons will never tell the truth about their history.

A big part of the origins of the Mormon church was their focus on sex. Joseph Smith had a “revelation” from “God” to legitimize adultery as “polygamy” because he was having too many relations. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Mormon men took multiple wives, with some of them stealing young women from the men to whom they were engaged. Their focus on sex is demonstrated nowadays by their sexual questioning of young people in various interviews.  Take a look at these questions and then tell me that Mormons aren’t titillating themselves with the answer they get!

The deception of the LDS knows no bounds — they intentionally hide their racism from those they hope to proselytize.

Question: "What does the Bible mean by 'you are gods' / 'ye are gods' in Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34?”  It certainly doesn’t mean you can become a god yourself!

Summary of October 2018 talk at General Conference. Some really bad and unbiblical teachings!

The lies about the name the Lord chose for the Mormon Church, and the current hubbub to drop all reference to the nicknames “Mormon” or “Mormonism.” It appears to me that the original name of the Latter-day Saints was just the “Church of Christ” in D&C 20 and 21, e.g. It was also known as the “Church of Latter-day Saints.” Seems odd that God waited 8 years (from the 1830 founding until D&C 115 on 4/26/38) to give an official name.  And the Mormons proudly accepted the nickname without any rebuke from God for many scores of years!

Was Joseph Smith’s “Inspired Version” of the Bible Completed?

The reason why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has not published the entire manuscript [of the “Inspired Translation”] is not due to any lack of confidence in the integrity of Joseph Smith, or doubt as to the correctness of the numerous additions and changes which are not in the Authorized Version of the Bible. The members of the Church do accept fully all of these and additions as having come by divine revelations to the Prophet Joseph Smith. The reason that it has not been published by the Church is due to the fact that this revision was not completed. It was the intention Joseph Smith, while at Nauvoo, to take the scriptures up again and complete his labors, making numerous corrections which had not been made by him in the earlier revision. It is recorded in the History of the Church that this was his intention. Due to persecution and mobbing this opportunity never came, so that the manuscript was left with only a partial revision.

Joseph Fielding Smith, Answers to Gospel Questions, Volume 2, Chapter 48

Joseph Fielding Smith’s claim is the routine response from Mormons because they have been taught this lie.  The problem with this claim is that Joseph Smith himself stated that the revision was complete!  Let’s look at some LDS publications to see whether or not J.F. Smith is lying:

Doctrine & Covenants 73:3-4 (Jan.10, 1832) states that “it is expedient to translate again…it is expedient to continue the work of translation until it be finished.

History of the Church, Vol.1, p.324, under the date Feb. 2, 1833, the following is attributed to Joseph Smith: “I completed the translation and review of the New Testament, on the 2nd of February, 1833, and sealed it up, no more to be opened till it arrived in Zion.

In Church Chronology, by Andrew Jenson, under the date 2/2/1833 is: “Joseph Smith, jun., completed the translation of the New Testament.” Under the date 7/2/1833 is: “Joseph the Prophet finished the translation of the Bible.

In a letter dated July 2, 1833, and published in Times & Seasons 6:802, signed by Joseph Smith, Sidney Rigdon and F.G. Williams, the following statement is made: “We this day finished the translating of the scriptures, for which we returned gratitude to our Heavenly Father.”  History of the Church Vol. 1, p.368.

If the “New Translation” was not finished, God would not have ordered it printed.  Yet D&C 94:10 (5/6/33) said Joseph was to build a house for the printing of it, D&C 104:58 (4/23/34) orders the printing of it, as does D&C 124:89 (1/19/41), which says, “publish the new translation of my holy word unto the inhabitants of the earth.”

It is obvious that the LDS is lying about the “Inspired Version” not being completed. This isn’t surprising when you consider that the LDS was founded on lies and is sustained by lies.

The Reason for the Name of This Blog

The term “anti-Mormon” is herein used to describe any person or organization that is directly or actively opposed The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, its doctrines, policies and programs. It is not, as critics sometimes mischievously try to claim, a catchall term for anyone who does not accept or believe in the Church, but is applied only to those who actively campaign against it. As an adjective, it applies to those specific activities that may with reasonable accuracy be described as attacks upon the Church . . . So we return to the question with which we began this survey: are anti-Mormons Christian? The answer: of course not. They were never even in the hunt. Their clerical collars and pious platitudes are simply a smokescreen to hide the ugly reality that anti-Mormonism is one of the clear manifestations of the darkest side of human nature; the side that made possible the death camps and burning crosses, the massacre of the Hutus and the wholesale slaughter of the Native Americans. Just as vicious and repressive dictatorships like to give themselves grandiose and liberal-sounding titles like “The People’s Democratic Socialist Republic of Such-and-such,” so these nasty religious haters appropriate the label of “Christian” in order to claim for themselves a specious respectability that their deeds and attitudes do not merit.

Found on a Mormon apologetics website, cited by Eric Johnson in the article, “A Major Victory for Satan” Nicknames Pronounced Blasphemous by President Nelson, The Salt Lake City Messenger, November 2018, pg.9

Don’t ever let a Mormon tell you that they don’t attack Christians; this is one very nasty attack!

Yes, They Really Did Say That!

When the plan for our salvation was presented to us in the premortal spirit world, we were so happy that we shouted for joy (see Job 38:7).

Gospel Principles, official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pg.9, 13

Okay, let’s look at Job 38:7:
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Who are the “morning stars” and who are the “sons of God.”  The parallelism is that they are one and the same individuals; i.e. they are angels.  We see this in Genesis 6, Job 1:6, Job 2:1, and Satan is one of them.

What was the reason the angels shouted for joy? It was because they observed the creation (the context of Job 38 ff).

So, just what are angels? They are spiritual beings created before man was created, and therefore a part of the creation they watched was man. Angels are not pre-human creatures, nor are they humans who have died.

Again I must point the Mormon to 1 Corinthians 15:44-46 which says mankind first exists as a natural body and then becomes a spiritual body after death. No where in the Bible will you find anything that even hints of preexistence. The LDS Book of Abraham is where this doctrine comes from, and that text has been proven to be a false work by Joseph Smith.

So there are three major lies in this one sentence:
1.  There is no such thing as a premortal spirit world.
2.  Angels are not pre-existing humans.
3.  The angels shouted for joy because of the creation, not because of any “plan of our salvation.”

Just remember, friends: Satan is the father of lies.

Links to Many Good Articles Exposing the Fraud of Mormonism

Mormon Bedtime Stories are totally bizarre.

The new Mormon Church history series will continue the falsehoods and fables of the LDS.

When it comes to the Bible, Mormons are schizophrenic.

The new Mormon “prophet” and President of the LDS has been “unleashed”—not by God, but by Satan.

The Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry has a large collection of articles exposing the fraudulent nature of Mormonism.

It seems the LDS Church wants to prove they are sympathetic to those who practice homosexuality by providing funds to enable them.

Exposing the polygamy and polyandry of the Mormon Church.

Has the Mormon Priesthood Been Used to Abuse? (starting about 30 min mark)

Two major lies told to kids by LDS “prophets.”

Mormons should trust God and His Word.

Who Forgave Sins and Died on the Cross: Jesus, or Mary? This teaching seems to be similar to the Roman Catholic Church version of Mary!

Joseph Smith: ‘Hell is an Agreeable Place’  I apparently missed this one; it’s a claim I’ve never before heard—or at least I don’t remember if I did.

My constant prayer is that Mormons will learn the truth on this blog or on the sites to which I link. There is no salvation in the LDS.

Did They Really Say That?!?

No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith. From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are.

Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 7:289.

Mormons have made Joseph Smith their savior.

Can A Dead Person Pass on a Priesthood He Never Held?

Question: “Will you please tell us which of the ancient prophets came and restored the keys of missionary work?”

Answer: The keys or power to go forth and proclaim the gospel was restored to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery when Peter, James, and John conferred upon them the Melchizedek Priesthood before the organization of the Church.  It is true that John the Baptist had conferred upon them the keys of the Aaronic Priesthood before the Melchizedek Priesthood was restored. This was necessary because the time had come for them to be baptized and hold this priesthood preparatory to the coming of the higher priesthood.

Joseph Fielding Smith, Answers to Gospel Questions, Vol 1, Chapter 33

The answer by Smith continues explaining when this authority was given, including revelations from “God.” Ending the answer right here is sufficient to destroy this teaching.

First: Peter, James, and John were not prophets; they were apostles.

Second: Neither these apostles nor John the Baptist were priests and so held no priesthood to pass on.

Third: In order to even have a qualification for the “Aaronic” priesthood (actually Levitical), one must be a member of the tribe of Levi, and nothing in Scripture says these men were Levites, and certainly neither Joseph Smith nor Oliver Cowdery were Levites.  The O.T. clearly says that only direct descendants of the tribe of Levi can hold the priesthood (Ex. 28:1, Num. 18:1-7, Lev. 6:19-23, Nehemiah 7:61-65). Additionally, to be ordained as a Levitical priest, there were certain rituals required that LDS does not perform (Ex. 29:4-27). The need for a Levitical priest was done away with when the temple veil was rent at Jesus' crucifixion. (Interestingly, D&C 107:16 even states that one must “be a literal descendant of Aaron” to hold this priesthood!)

Fourth: NO ONE can pass on the Melchizedek priesthood, since it was a priesthood of ONE, and that is Jesus Christ.  See my article, The Melchizedek Priesthood, for a detailed discussion proving the Mormons do not have this priesthood.

Finally: DEAD people do not return to earth for anything, nor do dead people become angels as Mormons teach.

Since all the above counter Biblical teachings, this also means that Joseph Smith never had a revelation from God because God does not contradict himself!

The Mormons have no priesthood—period.

Oh, Really?

The Scriptures teach us that the prophets prepared themselves to become leaders on earth while they were still spirits in heaven (See Alma 13:1-3). Before they were born into mortal bodies, God foreordained (chose) them to be leaders on earth. Jesus, Adam, and Abraham were some of these leaders. (See Abraham 3:22-23) …

A veil covers our memories of our premarital life, but our Father in Heaven knows who we are and what we did before we came here. He has chosen the time and place for each of us to be born so we can learn the lessons we personally need and do the most good with our individual talents and personalities.

Gospel Principles, official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pg.9, 10

Isn’t quite convenient that no one is able to remember their past spiritual life, and yet LDS prophets were supposed already prepared to be leaders? If they can’t remember, then how do they remember being prepared?

Nowhere in the Bible will we find such teachings.  We know by examination that the Book of Mormon is a fraud, being substantially nothing more than plagiarizing the KJV Bible and other books. And the Book of Abraham is nothing more than an Egyptian funeral document. So just these facts alone prove these claims to be false.

But let us look at one really good passage from the Bible which refutes this teaching — 1 Corinthians 15:44-46 where Paul is discussing the human body (HCSB):  sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.

Paul says that our bodies were FIRST natural (i.e. physical, earthly bodies) and then, when resurrected, will be spiritual bodies.  The LDS have the spiritual body first!

Did They Really Say That?!?

All men and women are literally the sons and daughter of God. “Man, as a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly parents, and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father, prior to coming upon the earth in a temporal [physical] body” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph F. Smith [1998], 335).

Every person who was ever born on earth is our spirit brother or sister. Because we are the spirit children of God, we have inherited the potential to develop His divine qualities.

Gospel Principles, official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pg.9

What does the Holy Bible have to say about this claim (citations are from the KJV)?

Matthew 22:30: For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

I know this passage doesn’t speak directly to God as for marriage, but if neither angels or resurrected saints marry, then why would it be that God would marry?

Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29;  God is not a man
Hosea 11:9: I am God, and not man
Luke 24:39: Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
John 4:24: God is a Spirit.

How could God marry if there is no “Goddess,” and God Himself is a spiritual being—spirits, having no body, cannot reproduce!  Ergo, God does not “beget” children.

John 8:41-45, 47: Not all are children of God, some are children of the devil.
Romans 8:9: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Galatians 3:26: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29: And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed.

These say that not all are children of God, contrary to the claim above, and that to be children of God we must be born again as Christians.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Romans 8:15:  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:23: And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Galatians: 4:5: To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Ephesians 1:5: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself…
1 John 3:1: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…Beloved, now are we the sons of God
1 John 5:1: Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

These passages demonstrate that we are adopted as children of God, not that we were to begin with. If we were already literal children of God, why would we then need to be adopted?

The LDS doctrine as cited from Gospel Principles is at odds with the Bible—it contradicts the Bible.  Therefore it is obvious that this doctrine is not from god because it is false. The “God” spoken of in this teaching is not the God of the Bible, and therefore a go who has no power to save anyone from sin.

Loveless Mormon Marriages

It is the duty of a first wife to regard her husband not with a selfish devotion… she must regard her husband with indifference, and with no other feeling than that of reverence, for love we regard as a false sentiment; a feeling which should have no existence in polygamy… we believe in the good old custom by which marriages should be arranged by the parents of the young people.

Zina Huntington, wife of Brigham Young, New York World, November 17, 1869.  Cited by Stanley P. Hirshson, The Lion of the Lord, pp. 229-230, 1969. H/T Michelle

This was a problem with polygamy: no love was expected, just duty.

Polygamy was NEVER sanctioned by God, rather He tolerated it due to the sinfulness of man.  I have previously written an article demonstrating from the Bible God’s view of polygamy.  In the Book of Mormon we have Jacob 1:15 calling polygamy a “wicked practice”; Jacob 2:24 calls polygamy “abominable”; Jacob 2:27 says God commands no one to have more than one wife; Jacob 3:5 also states that no one should have more than one wife; Ether 10:5 tells us polygamy is not right in God's sight. All these passages contradict Doctrine & Covenants 132.

Smith’s need to satisfy his lust led him to disregard the Bible and forget what he wrote in the Book of Mormon. (Why no women used the BOM against Smith’s taking them as wives is curious.) The doctrine of polygamy was invented to justify Joseph Smith’s serial adultery, and it justified every other Mormon man satisfying their lusts as they followed Joseph Smith’s example.

I have read many testimonies of wives who were part of plural marriages in the LDS in the 19th century (as well as from current FLDS) and they all tell of the horrible lives they were forced into. One such testimony was by Ann Eliza Young in her autobiographical book, Wife Number 19.  She spoke of the hardships of sharing a husband with so many other wives: “to show the pitiable condition of its women, held in a system of bondage that is more cruel than African slavery ever was, since it claims to hold body and soul alike.” All one has to do is read the Bible to see the stories of Abraham and Jacob and the troubles with their polygamous wives to understand that a polygamous family will not be stable.

Love is certainly lacking in polygamous marriages because the wives are all subservient to the husband’s desire for sex. Most LDS women entered such unions because they were threatened with the loss of salvation in the “celestial” heaven. The relationships became nothing but duty to serve the man’s sexual appetite.

Marriage was designed by God to be the union of two people, to bind them physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  When more women are added to the union, all the binding of the couple is destroyed. So love becomes absent.

Some Good Information To Dismantle Mormon Claims

Changing their name won’t change what they are: a non-Christian cult.

Proof that the author of he Book of Mormon plagiarized the KJV New Testament.

When Joseph Smith WROTE the Book of Mormon, he still had fairly orthodox views of the Christian faith. In Moroni 8:18 he wrote, For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity. Think of that: he said God was unchangeable from eternity — that he wasn’t a changeable being.  Yet in the King Follett Discourse Smith taught the new god that Mormons follow today: a man who earned his way to salvation and now lives on another planet with multiple wives. Robert Bowman has an excellent article discussing how this is a conundrum for Mormons.
