God Is NOT, Nor Ever Was, a Man

For I am God and not man, the Holy One among you.

Hosea 11:9b

The LDS says God was once a man and is now an exalted man. I guess they never read Hosea.

What happened to all the comments?

I also noticed that the guy who questioned you on your post here not only published two blog posts on his Blogger, he also did a YouTube video on his channel.

Interesting what he has to say.

I deleted them because they weren't important but especially since his name linked to false teachings.
I say his post and see nothing interesting because I've seen it all before.

While I do not agree with the LDS Faith, I did notice that the person who had commented, not sure what their name was, actually pointed out to you the problematic issue with how you are interpreting the passage of Hosea 11:9b. He is correct that you are actually cherry picking this verse out of context and attempting to build a strawman argument.

John Gill's Commentary actually disagrees with how you are attempting to interpret the passage from an Eisegesis Interpretation.

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger

That is, his wrath and fury to the uttermost; his people are deserving of his wrath as others, being by nature children of wrath as the rest; which they are sensible of under spiritual conviction, and therefore flee from it, where they may be safe: and though the Lord often chastises and afflicts them, yet not in wrath; or however but in a little wrath, as it seems to them; he does not stir up all his wrath, nor any in reality; all being poured upon his Son, their surety, who saves and delivers them from wrath to come; I will not return to destroy Ephraim;

or "again", or "any more, destroy" him; not twice; he might be destroyed when carried captive into Assyria; but the remnant that shall spring from him in the latter day shall not be destroyed, but saved. The Targum is,

``my word shall not return to destroy the house of Israel;''

or I will not return from my love and affections to them, I will never be wroth with them any more; nor from my mercy to them, which is from everlasting to everlasting; or from my covenant, promise, and resolution to save them, they shall not be punished with everlasting destruction: for I [am] God, and not man;

a God gracious and merciful, longsuffering, slow to anger, and pardoning sin, and not man, cruel, revengeful, implacable, who shows no mercy when it is in the power of his hands to avenge himself; or God that changes not in his purposes and counsels, in his love and affections, and therefore the sons of Jacob are not consumed, and not man that repents, is fickle, inconstant, and mutable; or God that is faithful to his covenant and promises, and not man that lies and deceives, promises and never performs. The Targum is,
``seeing I am God, my word remains for ever, and my works are not as the works of the flesh (or of men) who dwell upon the earth;'' (Source: https://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/gills-exposition-of-the-bible/hosea-11-9.html).

Okay, so you are pretty much a "Know it all". No wonder he called you out for being quite arrogant. I guess you are never be wrong. That is pride my friend. And Proverbs say Pride comes before the fall. And not only does it show a prideful attitude - you come off as quite haughty and high and mighty. How often do you polish that throne of condescension and scornful seat of judgment?

Dude, the truth is - you don't want your readers to see that you got your theological panties handed to you. Berman clearly showed how wrong you are. No one takes your blog seriously. What are you? A bitter crusty old man who has nothing better to do? Does your wet nurse know you are being such a theological imbecile? Grow up. At least he has the guts to link to your pathetic little blog post.

Sorry, but Hosea 11:9 is not out of context. It's because he is God and not a man that he doesn't execute his anger where a mere man would do so.

How about Numbers 23:19 where God points out that he is not a man or a son of man? Titus 1:2 points out that he is GOD and cannot lie--as man lies. Hebrews 6:18 does the same.

How about 1 Samuel 15:29? Job 9:32, et al, say that GOD is not a man.

I'm guessing you're working in concert with the other anonymous. AH, but you are judging my heart, totally unethical and a sin for Christians. I gave my motive and you judged by your standards of condemnation. Seems to me that you appear to support the LDS.

Anonymous Jul 12, 5:33 PM. I'm thinking there are three comments from the same person who like to judge sinfully.

No, that blog post did not show me to be wrong, all he did was give LDS understand and LDS is false teaching, an unbiblical cult.

Your ad hominem attacks on prove you are not a godly person and most likely a Mormon.

So, the individual whose comments I deleted due to his name linking to false teachings has made a video rebutting this post. He again claims I am arrogant and prideful and yet that is only because I stand by what I write. Using his ideas HE is the one who is prideful and arrogant.

He claims the idea of the Trinity is illogical, so I wrote this post:

Now tell my where the logic fails!

All I see you do is clam that he is preaching falsely or teaching falsely yet do not actually engage in any discussion with him. He linked to your blog and offered some good responses and all you are dong is sitting in your echo chamber here and saying - " He false" with no evidence to back up your claim.

This is typical of evangelical Christians like you. All bark and no real teeth or bite. You scurry away with your tail tucked between your legs and cower in fear and then say "oh the big bad mormon dude is false don't believe him."

Yes, his claim that you are arrogant and prideful is right on spot and you don't like it because you are simply too dumb and blind to see. You have an arrogant attitude where you literally have stated you are correct and right because you know the arguments. You actually know nothing and are an ignoramus fool.

I also watched the video and he did more to back up his understanding and yet here you are cowering like a weak little scared rat.

Grow some balls.

Well, anonymous, your friend is preaching/teaching falsely according to real Christianity. Mormonism is a cult and not real Christian. The evidence to back up my claim is this entire blog’s exposure of the false religion of Mormonism.

I’ve got plenty of real teeth and bite in the myriads of articles on this blog. My tail is not tucked between my legs, it is standing up straight and proclaiming the demonic religion of the false prophet Joseph Smith.

His claim that the Trinity is illogical and made up due to politics is proven wrong in the link I shared above which goes to my article on the Trinity—and all the evidence proves the doctrine was established long before any politics—it just wasn’t labeled.

His claim that I am arrogant and prideful is because I write the truth and he thinks if I claim it’s true then I am arrogant, but by the same standards he is the arrogant one.

I am not the ignorant one, but you certainly demonstrate that you are.

I have no desire to watch a video of a Mormon apologist claiming anti-Mormons are arrogant and prideful if we teach the truth about the LDS.

I grew big ones and stand as a real man.

Your response gave me the laugh I needed today. You are a real hoot.

Your entire blog is based on your own confirmation biased opinion. Nothing more than empty shallow arguments that have no bearing on reality of truth. I tell you what.

Show me one specific claim Berman made that is false and provide actual historical and scholarly evidence to back it up. Let's see if you actually have balls and teeth. And no saying "Its on my blog" or "go read my blog plenty of articles." I am challenging you to produce one shred of scholarly evidence that properly refutes him.

Other wise the devil needs to shut his mouth as well as the minister of Satan - which you are.

Anonymous,

Thanks for showing your true colors—just a bunch of ad hominem attacks.

My entire blog exposes the false prophecies, false teachings, the nonsense of the Book of Mormon and how much it plagiarizes the KJV Bible, how ahistorical it is. Etc

You have no idea what my blog teaches because you haven’t read it.

Satan is the one who founded the LDS and the one who fights against people like me exposing the LDS for the fraud it is.

You are finished here.

The only coward here is one who is afraid to use his own name.

Anonymous said...

I don't believe you have an inkling of a clue what an ad hominem is. You predictably did exactly what I expected a coward to do. You can't back up your claim and make a valid point without puffing out your chess and angrily proclaim "I have plenty of proof, it is on my blog". That is called being arrogant and prideful.

You can't argue your way out of a honey bucket that has yet to be emptied out of its crap.

Your blog is full of confirmation bias and errors. I know you feel you are self-important here and don't want your readers to see that you are lying, deceiving, and full of shit.

Anonymous coward to give name,

I’m well aware of what an ad hominem is—I’ve taken courses on logic: “to the man.” i.e. you attack my person because you don’t like my teachings. You called me a minister of Satan.

I wasn’t “puffing out [my] chest” when I pointed to my blog for your answers, nor was it arrogant and prideful. Stating facts is not arrogant or prideful. Nor did I “angrily proclaim” that fact.

My blog has no errors regarding the LDS cult nor do I “feel self-important.” These attributes are being display by YOU.

You will not have any more comments posted.
